An all SGC final in the 2026 South Wales Boys Championship

South Wales Boys Championship 2026 

This week, the annual South Wales Boys Championship took place at Cardigan Golf Club from 14–16 July, bringing together many of the region’s top junior golfers.

The championship began with a 36-hole individual stroke play qualifier on day one, followed by a two-day match play knockout competition for those who made the cut.

We are incredibly proud to announce that two Southerndown Golf Club juniors, Gethin Lewis and Tommy Evans, reached the final, overcoming some exceptionally strong opponents along the way.

Competing in searing heat, with challenging wind and firm ground conditions, both players performed brilliantly throughout the three-day event. Having each played well over 100 holes, they demonstrated remarkable stamina, skill and professionalism.

A huge congratulations to Gethin Lewis, who was crowned South Wales Boys Junior Champion 2026, with Tommy Evans finishing as a well-deserved runner-up after a fantastic final.

An outstanding achievement and a proud moment for everyone at Southerndown Golf Club. Congratulations, Gethin and Tommy!
