£1710 raised for the Royal British Legion Campaign

One of our members, Steve Roberts, recently slept out overnight in the Gorse area next to the 18th green to raise money for the Royal British Legion campaign, in aid of Homeless Veterans. The Appeal was called Tommys Great Sleep-out and invited people to spend one night in March sleeping rough in support of the over 6000 veterans who are homeless in the UK.

Steve had a call from the RBL to thank him for raising the fantastic amount of £1710, which made him one of the leading contributors to the appeal, which reached its amazing target of One Million Pounds.

Steve would like to thank all of the Southerndown Golf Club, who contributed over £800 of his final amount. In austere times, it is due to the incredible generosity of people like our members, that valuable work can still be carried out in support of those who have put their lives on the line in the protection of our Country, and are suffering in many ways.

Thank You All Southerndown Members, your support will made such a difference and maybe we can make all homelessness a thing of the past.
