Llewellyn Matthews drops out of contention
27 MAY 2008 19:20
Llew shot 75 today to leave him at three over, just four shots away from playing at the weekend. At one point he was three under for the tournament. Llew should take away the positive points from this- he can compete at the highest level and it is a tough business. Not that it is much comfort, but Padraig Harrington, Stephen Dodd and Rhys Davies along with many others also missed the cut
Llew shot one under par 70 today in the first round to leave him handily placed- the same score as Open Champion Padraig Harrington. He'll need another strong performance to make the cut tomorrow- go along and support him if you can . Llew tees off tomorrow (Friday) at 13:55
Full scores available at
The tee times have just been published for the Celtic Manor Wales Open. Llew starts on the 11th at just after 9.00 on Thursday- I believe that Mike Blackman is caddying- go along and support him if you can- I'm sure Llew will appreciate the support. Tee times on the link below
Llew gets his first start on the big stage as a professional next week with a well deserved invite to the Wales open at the Celtic manor resort. Tickets are available for anyone wishing to go and support him. Llew has been practicing hard- it was great to see him working hard on his putting this week. I'll put the tee times/ scores on next week when they're available. I believe the tounament is being played on the new 2010 course.
Llew will once again be representing Southerndown wearing clothing featuring our logo.
The entry list can be found here
Ticket details can be found here- they're available on the gate- payment by cash only unless of course you've already bought them in advance.
