Bulletin 17: Ben Westgate leads the Putter

Ben Westgate takes a one shot lead into the final day of the 2011 Duncan Putter.  But the sensation of the second round was the performance of the youngest player in the tournament, 16-year-old Zach Galliford. 

 

After an unspectacular round of 76 in the morning the Borth & Ynyslas 2010 Club Champion followed pars on the 1st and 2nd holes with a double-bogey on the 3rd.  But suddenly everything changed with an eagle 2 on the 4th hole.  This inspired Zach to produce his best form with birdies on the par 5 6th and 13th holes and the par 4 12th, to compensate for dropped shots on the par 3 7th and 14th, leaving him with a score of 69 - the only sub-par round of the afternoon.

 

The stage is set for an exciting day's golf tomorrow!
