Bulletin 2: Weather set fair for Duncan Putter

Duncan Putter 2011
Conditions could not be better for this year's Duncan Putter. This early season event which has seen rain, sleet, snow, hail, thunder and lightning in recent years looks set to be bathed in wall-to-wall sunshine this weekend.
But Southerndown is never a course to be taken lightly. It will be surprising if a 'gentle sea breeze' does not spring up at some time over the weekend to test the players' clubbing. As John Jermine says, "there isn't a weak hole at Southerndown and any score near par is more than respectable".
Oliver Farr (Ludlow) will be hoping to retain the title he won in 2010, but he will face a severe challenge from Andy Sullivan ranked 15th amateur in the world, and a strong contingent of fellow Welsh golfers eager to add their names to the list of illustrious past winners.
... and since when have the English allowed the Welsh to have it all their own way?
We are in for an exciting weekend. Come and watch some play if you can.
