Matt Haines (Rochester & Cobham Park) has equalled the tournament record of 274 (6 under par) set 3 years ago by Neil Chaudhuri and Bjorn Akesson.
With ten cards still to be returned it remains to be seen whether this will be enough to secure the title.
He is the current leader in the clubhouse ahead of Nigel Edwards (275) and Ian Winstanley (276).
