Southerndown Golf Club received 125 entries for this year’s Duncan Putter tournament. After a ballot was held the field was reduced to 66 players with the cut-off point coming at +1.3. Representatives from 5 different countries are involved in the tournament this year, with 26 Welsh players, 29 English, 6 Irish, 4 German and 1 South African contesting in the 72 hole event during the weekend of 9th & 10th April.
There has been a fantastic response from the members of Southerndown Golf Club offering their services with the marshalling and ball spotting over the tournament weekend. "This is a huge benefit to the to the tournament officials and I, as the players whave to complete two rounds in limited daylight hours" said tournament director John Peters. "I can’t express our sincere gratitude highly enough, as many tournaments / championships lack this kind of support, which in my opinion sets our event apart from so many others. We look forward to welcoming all these elite players to our club and tournament once again this year and hopefully watching some outstanding play on our downland links."
