Southerndown – the Home of The Duncan Putter

 

72-hole scratch competition held at Southerndown in April every year

The Duncan Putter is the first of the Welsh Order of Merit events and gives International and Walker Cup selectors a chance to assess early season form.

Competitors come from Wales, the UK and increasingly from Europe, too.

Recent winners include:

  • Gary Wolstenholme - England’s most capped international
  • Nigel Edwards - Welsh Walker Cup player
  • Bjorn Akesson – from Sweden: at 17 the youngest ever winner until the event was won in 2013 by 15-year-old Tim Harry.
